What do you do when an event flops? Well, today's Forum for Teenagers was a flop! I think it was a culmination between not enough marketing and the MLK Parade! MLK Parade! I didn't know, so next time I have to be more conscious of dates and possible other events because all the teenagers were at the parade or performing in the parade! But then again, I wonder if they even announced my event at the high school next door...I should have done what I knew to do, beat the streets and pass out fliers to parents and to kids.
So, I will take a step back and figure out the best way to re-do this event, would it have been more successful in a different area? What about the time? All questions that are running through my mind. But I won't beat myself up about it. Actually, there's a teen group that meets at the facility that I was having it, they return meeting next month...perhaps we can coordinate with their meet time to speak on the topic. It is a good topic.
The good part out of it...I was able to identify some other opportunities.
