L.I.F.E

Things have been so different than anything I expected, but then again, what did I really expect? Over the past couple weeks I have been involved in some great things. Over Father's Day weekend, I volunteered at Steve Harvey's Young Men's Mentoring Weekend. It was phenomenal! The crew, volunteers and participants had a great time although it was hot, we were all in it together. The boys bonded with the counselors; the counselors were inspired by the boys. It was an honor to be apart of such a wonderful thing...young men being uplifted, encouraged and mentored by men who have made it, who are successful to different degrees. There were great motivational speakers who have great knowledge that the next generation needs to understand. These men were able to teach about things the media isn't teaching our youth, how to be productive young men! Instead they are filling their heads with garbage on how to be and it's not to be productive. They say, garbage in, garbage out.

Just volunteering my time has opened doors for my professional life. It's amazing how good deeds are always rewarded, whether instantly or eventually, helping others is good for everyone involved, even you! Because at the end of the day, people watch and see you, they know your spirit and can see the motive behind what you do. It's the principal of sowing and reaping. During my life, I try to sow as much as possible, giving of my time, my knowledge and finances when I can. It's rewarding to see the effect it has on others. Giving our future hope.
